bruh, Steam still takes 30% today. I don't know about UK but common tax in EU is 20%, so you can't possibly ave more than 50%. Games used to cost $60, today at $5 you're going against Just Cause, Wolfenstein, Doom, Witcher, Dark Souls, Deus Ex, etc. So good luck to devs. There's more money to be made selling ice cream on a street corner.

Dotemu should develop Comix Zone 2. They made Streets of Rage 4, so there's a possibility and potential here.

I would have loved to play a 3D version of Comix Zone even though the original was very hard to play (and I've read one of the reasons it didn't sell well). Another game that tried the 3D route was The Last Ninja on the Commodore 64. I remember seeing some screenshots of the game in early development for the Xbox 360 where one screenshot showed the ninja fighting a massive spider that was almost as big as the screen itself. Unfortunately, it seems either it got cancelled or it was just some mockup images which were never followed through on which is a shame as the Last Ninja series was one of my favourite games on the C64 growing up.

It do show Capcom thought well of the console and give it an attempt. But NES sprites width limit that causes flickering was an obstacle.Years later pirate vetsion surface and it was capable but with trade off.

Ironically the SNES would go on to outlive the N64 only being discontinued in 1999 in North America (well into the N64's lifespan which ended in 2001) and as late as 2005 in Europe... but there you have it...

Back in the early 90's, a portable Nintendo Entertainment System would've been in an instant blockbusters, and that's why BDL's The Express existed in prototype form.

I would love for them to get it to boot. Someone can create some homebrew ROMs utilizing it's potential and we can emulate it. May be a while though. If ever.

If Jason is watching this, than I would want you to do 2 things if you wanna update the VM 3 documents, 1: more detailed drawings of the characters (and maybe even color in there too) and 2: more detailed maps also with colors to note what part is which using all the established tiles in the doc.

Gaming history

This portable Nintendo, formally called The Express, was intended to be a handheld version of the Nintendo Entertainment System from BDL Enterprises (the same Nintendo 3rd-party accessory licensee BDL that engineered the Turbo Blaster and the unreleased Game Boy to NES adapter). If produced, it would have been released in the early 1990's, would have delivered solid on the go using a existing library of NES-compatible game pak cartridges, except for light gun or R.O.B. games, and runs 30-40 hours on 4 C batteries. In the version it tested, joypad ports were built into the surface of the unit, although a different model, with the pad built-in, was also working. That awesome color portable is reportable slightly bigger than a regular Game Boy with a large backlit color screen. It was meant to play regular NES games and uses your 2 regular NES controllers or joysticks.

I was told online that BDL Enterprises is working on a portable 4-player input for the NES compatible system. While there is one on the market now as the patent has lapsed on NES compatible hardware, so we’re getting a lot of NES compatible systems out there, as of 1990, this is begging for a major lawsuit. I'd glad Nintendo never released this thing. It should be called NintenGo, NESPress. I was told back in 1990, the beginning of the 1990's, that was said to outlast the black & green Nintendo Game Boy. There was several older portable NES/Famicom systems as well. One such system was the Toy Guy by Kingway Electronics in 1993-94. It was a handheld unit that resembled a Sega Game Gear, but it because the game paks slip into the top of the unit, the portable NES unit is 9 1/4 inches wide x 4 1/2 inches high I'll play all 8-bit Nintendo NES games in color on a smalls LCD screen. Other features include an RF cord to connect your portable NES to a TV, a joy stick connector for 2 players to share the fun, and built-in Turbo and Reset buttons. It’ll play Famicom games, but that test unit from the Lab came with a converter for regular U.S. Nintendo NES carts. Picture is absolutely gorgeous, with sharp, clear, high-resolution 8-bit graphics. The sound needs works, but Innovation assures that the entire system is being revamped. The system’s name may be changed. Planned for release in the United States around 1993, it didn’t come out. Super Axe by Redant. It was released in 1998, surprisingly good for the time. With a large LCD display, and audio/video inputs and outputs. Another was the Game Theory Admiral (GTA), a very good strange for a portable. Today several handheld NES/Famicom's exist, PocketFamicom and the FC Mobile, lately followed by the FC Mobile II. As a adult, I would have chose this portable NES, called The Express (a.k.a. BDL Nintendo Express, The Nintendo Express, Nintendo Express, The NES Express, & BDL Express) and the Retro Duo Portable, which plays all NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Sega Genesis games. And one day, I can play my NES, SNES and Game Boy games on the go. I wish The Express should have been released, it would have been licensed by Nintendo for use with the NES, it would have bearing the Official Nintendo Seal of Quality.

It has been the portable home console of all-time console. The Express couldn’t go to market without a license from Nintendo. However, Nintendo thought it would complete with the then-recently released Game Boy and denied the license. But I would stick with the NES, SNES & Game Boy and the Retro Duo Portable playing NES and Super NES games on the go.
